Hackers break into Dutch ISP KPN and leaked username,passwords info


Hackers break into One of the largest ISP in Netherlands and published the confidential data ,including username,passwords,phone-numbers, address.

KPN announced about the security breahch on Feb 8th,but suddenly today decided to suspend all email access after hackers published the customers info in pastebin.

"KPN has chosen today as a precaution all email (so-called pop) and webmail KPN from the air to take. This concerns 2 million e-mail connections from KPN, including kpnmail; aol and planet. This e-mail services were therefore temporarily not accessible." official notification says(translated).
KPN claimed that they have taken this precaution because a customer list of 539 names with address, phone number, user names and passwords are published on the Internet.

They are currently allowing customers to send mails but have disabeldisabled access to customer mailboxes while they work on securing the server infrastructure.


They have encouraged customers to change their current passwords on other sites like Google,facebook, if they used same password.
