Philippines DOJ traces hackers who defaced government sites


The Philippines’ Department of Justice announced on Monday that they have identified some the hackers who responsible for defacing government websites.

Last week, major government sites including the official websites of the Official Gazette (www.gov.ph), the Senate (www.senate.gov.ph) and the House of Representatives (www.congress.gov.ph), have been breached and defaced by hackers after the country announced the introduction of the new cybercrime law.

According to gmanetwork report,  the DOJ ordered the National Bureau of Investigation’s Anti-fraud ad Computer Crimes unit to pursue hackers who defaced government website in an apparent show of defiance against the new law, Republic Act 10175.

There is no details about the identified-hackers and how many of them have been identified.
