Security Researcher, David Jacoby, has received two direct messages in twitter, which has a link to Twitter phishing page.
"hey, someone is spreading nasty rumours about you [bit.ly/****]" One of the Twitter DM received by David.
"hey, someone is spreading terrible rumours about you [y.ahoo.it/****]" Another variant.
This is one of the old phishing technique used by Cyber Criminals, claiming that there’s somebody out there that’s dragging your name in the dirt
When a user click the url provided in the message, he will be redirected to a website "http://twi[***]er.com/" where the attacker has created a rogue Twitter login-page, and if you enter your credentials they will end up in the wrong hands.
"The stolen credentials will most likely be used to find more victims, but also to maybe find victims on other social media."
