US and India concerned over Cyber Security

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and every country is trying their best to make their cyber security impenetrable.

In order to achieve that President Obama has partnered with the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) which will  start a month-long  public awareness campaign, “Lock Down Your Login.”

The main reason for this campaign is to encourage people to have more authentication procedure rather than usernames and passwords.

However,India has built its first platform for homegrown cyber security companies which will help them to build their own security technologies.

The Indian government and some industry have joined hands together to prepare a road map for digital and cyber security products and solution companies.

According to Data Security Council of India the cyber security market size in India  is about $4 billion, and is  expected to grow ninefold to $35 billion by 2025. While the data released by White House shows that  62% of the  security breaches could have been prevented by better authentication systems such as biometrics or dual-factor authentication rather than an only use of usernames and passwords.

Computer scientist Mary Theofanos said, "We weren't even looking for fatigue in our interviews, but we got this overwhelming feeling of weariness throughout all of the data."

"Years ago, you had one password to keep up with at work. Now people are being asked to remember 25 or 30. We haven’t really thought about cyber security expanding and what it has done to people."
