NATO to help Finland in cybersecurity

The Finnish government has signed the NATO framework agreement to strengthen their cyber defense.

According to the reports of IA REGNUM today, the Department of Defense of Finland worked on the agreement documents since 2011 but got finalized on February 17.

The Ministry was concerned about the growing cyber threat around the world. And this cooperation with the NATO will them to have more secure cyberspace which will boost their national defense.

The cooperation between Finland and NATO in the area of cyber security has been there for many years, but the legal documents containing the objectives of the parties have been finalized now.


In November 2016, it was clear that there will be a centre for combating cyber threats in Helsinki. This project includes USA and European Union countries like Germany, France, Sweden and the Baltic States. There are now 11 participating countries which intend to strengthen cooperation with NATO.
