Fireball malware infected 250 million computers

After WannaCry malware another massive malware has currently infected more than 250 million computers worldwide. This malware has  power to "initiate a global catastrophe."

The "Fireball" malware has an ability to take control of internet browsers, spy on the victim's  web history and steal their personal files and informations.

According to a cybersecurity firm, Check Point,  Rafotech is most affected by this malware.   Rafotech is a Chinese  firm which provides game apps to 300 million customers. They are using Fireball for manipulating  web browsers, change search engines, and scoop up user data.

The malware has the potential to effect cybersecurity of computers around the world.

"How severe is it? Try to imagine a pesticide armed with a nuclear bomb. Yes, it can do the job, but it can also do much more," Check Point researchers wrote in a blog post this week (1 June). "Many threat actors would like to have even a fraction of Rafotech's power."

While, Rafotech did not  respond to a request for comment.

The experts observed most infections in India (10.1%), 24.1 million in Brazil (9.6%), 16.1 million in Mexico (6.4%), and 13.1 million in Indonesia (5.2%). While, US  witnessed 5.5 million infections (2.2%).
