After more than three years, Apple has confirmed that there is an issue with its new butterfly keyboards of the MacBook and MacBook Pro machines. The owners will have a chance to get their keyboard fixed for free of cost.
The company's spokesperson released a statement: “Today we launched a keyboard service program for our customers that covers a small percentage of keyboards in certain MacBook and MacBook Pro models which may exhibit one or more of the following behaviors: letters or characters that repeat unexpectedly or don’t appear when pressed or keys that feel “sticky” or aren’t responding in a consistent manner.”
Apple said that they would first examine the hardware of the system, and if necessary then they will replace "one or more keys or the whole keyboard” free of charge.
Users who are facing any kind of issues with their MacBook or MacBook Pro's keyboard are requested to take their laptop to any nearby Apple stores or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to get the servicing done free of charge.
