Moscow Cableway "Luzhniki -Vorobyovy Gory" (Moscow Metropolitan stations) was opened on November 26. Its length is 720 m. The Cableway is designed to carry up to 1.6 thousand passengers per hour.
Computer servers of a new type of transport for the Russian capital were subjected to a powerful cyber attack this Tuesday, just a couple of days after opening.
The employees of the Cableway discovered a computer failure and immediately stopped the work of the road. And they promptly dropped off all passengers at the destination stations to ensure maximum passenger safety.
It became known that a message from an Unknown came to the Head computer of the Moscow Cableway. In this message the hacker demanded to transfer him Bitcoins in exchange for information about decrypting computer files.
Sergey Kravchenko, senior business development manager at the Department of Advanced Technologies at Kaspersky Lab, said that the protection of data channels of the Moscow Cableway is easy to hack, but it can lead to human casualties. Therefore, it is necessary to take care of cyber security and protection already at the stage of entry into the cyber world.
