Greek Police said they had arrested three teenagers on suspicion that they are the ones responsible for the cyber attack on official website of the Ministry of Justice.
Earlier this month, Greek police arrested an 18-year-old suspect for hacking the justice ministry's website, Now two other boys (16,17-year old) were also arrested over the case.
The three students are allegedly part of the international "Anonymous" activist collective under the codenames ’delirium’, ‘nikpa’ and ‘extasy’, which has attacked several website and computers in several countries.
In the Feb. 2 cyber attack, the hackers posted a message on the ministry website in response to Greece's tough fiscal reforms and the country's decision to join a controversial international anti-piracy pact.
"What is going on in your country is unacceptable. You were chosen by your people to act on behalf of them and express their wishes, but you have derogatorily failed. You have killed the most sacred element your country had and that is democracy. Democracy was given birth in your country but you have now killed it" Hacker said when the operations in Greece began.
Cyber Crime Unit has found electronic traces that supposedly lead to the subjects and claim that they’ve attacked many sites in the past. Besides the arrests, the unit also seized 12 HDD and 3 notebooks.
The evidence will be sent to a laboratory for digital analysis to determine how many and which websites they have attacked in Greece.
